The Democratic Progress Institute (DPI) is currently recruiting for two positions in our central London office. The positions are Project Officer (full-time) and Finance Officer (part-time). The Democratic Progress Institute (DPI) aims to broaden the bases and platforms for discussion on establishing a structured public dialogue on peace & democracy building. It does this by carrying out research and providing a space for world renowned experts in these fields to share their practical experiences in order support and strengthen collaboration between academia, civil society and policy makers in Turkey, Iran, Syria and Iraq, as well as the wider region.
The position of Project Officer will suit a highly motivated individual who will provide research, administrative, planning and logistical assistance to the Director. Responsibilities will include liaising with relevant DPI staff, arranging large scale meetings, regional and international travel, and accommodation; preparation of background material and presentations for meetings; coordinating and maintaining the schedule of the Director; managing interns in conducting research related to the publication of position papers; and maintaining organization and confidentiality of information and materials. Impeccable written and oral English grammar required.
The Finance Officer position will involve working closely with fundraising and charity management personnel to recommend improvements to financial systems as well as working to implement policies and procedures relating to finance, financial planning and analysis, information technology systems, and facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for somebody new to the civil society sector but who has previously demonstrated excellent ability in the field of financial management and forecasting.
