In just two years, we’ve gone from a good idea to a life- changing reality in Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Tanzania (with a new launch just this week just outside of Nairobi). Now, over 10,000 children and families have the brilliance of a half a million e-books at their fingertips. Inspiring!
This month marks two of our largest launches yet: four more schools in Ghana and 20 more schools in Kenya. Together they more than double our impact and are shaping the lives of younger kids with great books (even in local languages like Twi and Dhoulo!). It’s heartwarming to hear stories of our connections and impact: our Kenyan colleagues have been encouraging parents to let their children read to them when they are cooking, a novel idea to Kenyan mothers that they quickly embrace.
Thank you for supporting this reading revolution- we can’t do this without you. And we’re only getting started- our aim is to reach 1 million children by 2015. But just reading through our 2012 Annual Report, I know we have a shot at it.
